European Winter Finance Conference

The EWFC is an annual conference that was started in 2006.  It is a small, informal conference that brings together researchers from Europe, the USA and elsewhere and offers excellent opportunities for in-depth discussion of a small number of papers.   Past programmes are available here.

Since its debut in 2006 many outstanding papers in finance have been presented at the EWFC.  A recent study ranks the EWFC as third best finance conference in the world,  based on subsequent publication in top journals.  (However, if you are considering submitting a paper to the EWFC, you should know that papers are not selected on criteria designed to maximize performance in a ranking such as status of the authors or prior success of the paper.  Rather, based on careful reports from the programme committee, I select papers that are interesting and make a good scholarly contribution).

The European Winter Finance Conference 2017 will be held in Megeve near Mont Blanc, Jan15-18. Submissions will be due in September or early October (exact date TBC).  For details please click here.
